First feature film made with a cell phone, and amazingly its not an iPhone or an Android device, but a Nokia N8, as you can see in the Behind the Scenes video.
Nokia was always my favorite brand of cell phones, all the way from the Baby Nokia to the 5800 model, which caused me so many headaches that I decided to change to Android.
However, Nokia ads Carl Zeiss lenses to their phones, which should make it the favorite brand of filmmakers and photographers. Sadly, Symbian could not match up to the quality of iOS and Android, thus driving away developers and users.
It’s kind of baffling that they reacted to the Symbian debacle by not developing Meego and choosing Windows Phone as their new OS. We’ll see if the Microsoft / Nokia alliance works in the future, although it’s pretty obvious that the iPhone is the leader now, specially among filmmakers.
For now, it’s kind of refreshing to see filmmakers that don’t follow the iPhone / Apple frenzy.
